An introduction to HBOT’s gas laws.
Let’s begin our exploration of HBOT in the British Isles centuries ago, where three titans of physics and chemistry were transforming how we understand the physical world.
Their names were Robert Boyle, John Dalton, and William Henry.
They decoded how gases behave under changing pressure, volume, and temperature. Known as Boyle’s Law, Dalton’s Law, and Henry’s Law, these breakthroughs became the bedrock of Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine and HBOT as we know it today.
To see how, let’s follow these laws into the healing core of HBOT: oxygen.
Describes how volume and pressure interact. HBOT role: guides the pressure increase rate and shrinks harmful nitrogen and other toxic gas bubbles.
Reveals how gas mixtures exert pressure. HBOT role: multiplies oxygen’s partial pressure, sending far more oxygen into your lungs and bloodstream.
Shows how pressure drives gases to dissolve into liquid. HBOT role: allows oxygen to dissolve directly into blood plasma, the liquid portion of your bloodstream.
For most people, HBOT feels relaxing.
You rest inside the chamber and breathe normally while treatment is underway. Many people use the time to read, color, pray, or simply rest.
Most sessions last about 90 minutes, and best outcomes are supported by a series of 40 sessions. Your treatment plan can be adjusted based on your needs and response.
Complete the new patient intake forms, which will serve as a guide for your consultation with our licensed medical provider.
If HBOT offers an appropriate path of care, you will receive a prescription for a treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals.
Start your HBOT sessions and let oxygen do what it does best: help the body’s natural capacity to repair and heal.
Our team of hyperbaric technicians is trained and certified through the International Board of Undersea Medicine (IBUM). Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine is a unified discipline focused on the therapeutic use of oxygen under pressure to treat a wide range of medical conditions and recovery needs linked to inflammation and poor oxygen delivery.
Through IBUM, we have gained deep knowledge in hyperbaric facility management, safety protocols, and HBOT chamber operation. A certified hyperbaric technician remains present throughout each session, and the treatment environment is continuously monitored.
Hope Hyperbarics uses only FDA-cleared and PVHO/ASME-approved steel chambers made in the USA.
We are a cash-based clinic and do not bill insurance at this time. HSA payments are accepted.
If cost is a concern, we can work with you to create a payment plan. We also offer need-based scholarships through our Hope for Healing Foundation.

If cost is a barrier, the Hope for Healing Foundation is here. Through need-based HBOT scholarships and no-cost restorative nature experiences, we help patients and caregivers heal.
